2023 Review
08 January 2023. Sunday saw the Marsden to Edale (Trigger) Race take place. Runners navigate their way from Marsden over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder to the finish in Edale (route measured at 24 miles with 1650 meters of climbing). Profits from this race go to Woodhead Mountain Rescue.
15 January 2023. Huddersfield Town Women score the first of nine goals against Dronfield Ladies (in red & black) in the SHCFA Women’s Challenge Cup 3rd Round.
20 January 2023. A Blackbird foraging amongst last years rotting apples after days of cold weather.

23 April 2023. Sunday saw The Yorkshire Veterans’ Athletics Assocation Grand Prix Series get under way at Honley.

05 November 2023. Runners during the annual Cop Hill Fell Race promoted by Meltham Athletic Club. Blue skies and plenty of mud after recent heavy rain.

12 November 2023. Villagers of Honley pay their respects with a parade through the village and service at the village war memorial on Remembrance Sunday.
17 December 2023. Runners during the annual Travellers 6 road race promoted by Denby Dale Travellers.
23 December 2023. Runners during the annual Holmfirth Harriers AC Tinker Cup. This year the Tinker Cup is dedicated to Kevin Johns, a very popular and long standing member, who sadly died earlier this year. First run in 1908, it’s a challenging cross country handicap race of approximately 6 miles, and requires competitors to negotiate walls, fences & gates along the route, along with the weather.
25 December 2023. Heavy rain didn’t put off almost 700 runners (highest turnout since Covid) who descended on Greenhead Park on Monday morning for the Christmas Day edition of the Huddersfield Parkrun.
