Over 160 runners took advantage of a surprisingly warm November morning at the Cop Hill Fell Race from Meltham. Despite the unseasonably warm weather, there was still plenty mud about to keep the diehards happy.
Local David Watson (Holmfirth) repeated his win of 2007. Finishing in 38:23, Watson had over a minute to spare on Otley AC’s Liam Dunne (39:34), with Paul Stevenson (Pudsey & Bramley) just behind in third (39:45).
In the Ladies race, Katie Walshaw (Holmfirth), despite having raced the previous day at the English Cross Country Relays in Mansfield, easily repeated her win of 2010. Helen Berry (Holmfirth), also another who race at Mansfield took second, with Pippa Wilkye (Dark Peak Fell Runners) in third.
