Holme Moss Fell Race 2011

Holme Moss Fell Race 2011

120 brave souls lined up for the 24th Holme Moss Fell Race. Conditions were typical for the race – strong winds and heavy rain, with a few sunny spells.

Simon Harding (Macclesfield Harriers) showed his intentions right from the start, leading all the way to finish with almost 3 minutes to spare over second place runner Steve Cale (Mercia), Richard Pattinson (Pudsey & Bramley) moved his way though the field to take third and first Vet 45. Macclesfield Harriers also took the team prize.

The Ladies race was dominated by Holmfirth’s Helen Berry (2008 winner), who despite the foul weather, managed to go faster than last year. Nicky Spinks (Dark Peak) took second from Maraget Sykes (Holmfirth), and with Karen Sinkinson fourth, Holmfirth took the Ladies team prize.
