Sunday saw the second running of the Kirkwood Hospice 10K Trail Race.
The event aims to raise money for the Hospice which provides specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Care and support is also provided for their family members, friends and carers, both during the illness and after death.
- The pre-race warm up was led by Fit4Force
- The race saw entrants of all ages taking part
- Race winners Andy WHitworth (Meltham AC) and Nicola Brown (Holmfirth Harriers)
- Local running celebrity Sean Doyle (no.104) returned to racing less than 4 months after suffering a heart attack.
- Much of the course was along the canal footpath (nice and flat)
- Pinky Lynx of race sponsor The Pink Link was on hand throughout the day
