Monday night saw the return of the ever-popular Trunce series. 290 brave (or foolish) souls took the start of the senior race, with over 50 lining up for the junior event.
In the Senior race Shaun Dimelow hit the first river crossing in the lead, closely followed by Tom Beasant, with Sarah McCormack well clear in the ladies race. Beasant fought hard on the return and came back across the river clear of Dimelow to win in a time of 23 mins 52 secs. Dimelow (24:13) had a minute to spare on third place finisher Kieran Hodgson (25:19), with John Cox (26:18) first Vet.
Sarah McCormack took the ladies honours in 26 mins 49 secs (11th place overall), Anwen Darlington was second in 29 mins 59 secs and Pauline Griffin third (30:49)
Joseph Dransfield and Maddie Pearce ran out the winners in the junior races.
