Colne Valley High School played host to Round 3 of the Yorkshire Summer Cyclo Cross Series, with a warm evening, conditions were ideal for racing.
In the senior race over 80 riders took to the start line for the 45 minutes (plus 1 lap) race. First to hit the front was Pedalsport rider Jack Clarkson, winner of Round 2 at Sheffield, with Billy Harding (Paul Milnes RT) his nearest pursuer. Ian Taylor (Craven Energy Tri / Jedi Cyclesport) also made his way though the field to join up with Harding, working together they soon made their way onto Clarkson’s rear wheel.
The three continued to work together to open up a healthy lead on the rest of the field. Harding was the first to drop off, but had enough in hard to hold off the rest of the field for third. Clarkson and Taylor continued to work together for the rest of the race, with Taylor pulling his foot out on the last lap, Clarkson took the win without being pushed in the end. In the Ladies race, Nikola Butler (Pedalsport) ran out the winner from Lynn Bland (Norton Wheelers).
